雅思写作一直是让备考雅思的同学们头疼的老大难问题。烤鸭们受中文写作思维惯性的影响，习惯把文章的开篇写得很华丽，但一大段话绕来绕去却并没有进入主题，导致作文成绩不理想。
仔细分析原因是因为内容文不对题、开头冗长、言之无物，未能按照题目的要求进行描述、归纳或论述。那在写作中怎么才能处理掉“通篇内容空洞”这样的顽疾呢?今天就带你揭晓答案。
“内容”重要还是“语言”重要?
相信不少烤鸭都存在这样的误区：雅思是一门语言考试，所以雅思写作考的是语言，而不是内容。今天要告诉大家的是，这个想法绝对是错误的!
很多同学语言基础很不错，对单词和语法的掌握都很熟练，然而最后写作成绩却并不满意。这些文章缺乏实质性的内容。在雅思写作的评分标准中，第一项就是“写作任务的回应情况(Task Response)”，要求文章要有“清晰的观点、切题的论点、充分的论证”。也就是说，考官是非常重视文章的内容是否有逻辑且充实的，这会决定我们整篇文章分数的一个上限。
写作中的假、大、空
1、写作中的“假”内容
就是让读者看起来觉得很假，没有说服力的内容。有些同学为了节约备考的时间，背诵了一些万能的、语言表达非常好的论点论据，在文章中直接默写套用。这样的内容如果没有办法充分证明论点，或者语言和自己写的部分差距极大的话，很容易让读者看出来是背诵的内容。
这样问题的出现，主要是因为同学们对雅思写作要求不够了解。在上文中提到过，写作的评分不会只关注语言，内容的切题也是一个重要评分项。同学们会因被读者看出来的“背诵性内容”而扣分。
2、写作中的“大”论点
很多中国同学喜欢用看起来很宏大的一些论点，比如“体育能完善人格”，“艺术能陶冶情操”，但是用这样的论点进行论证有两点不好。
第一，“人格”和“情操”这种涵盖意思过广的中文名词没有非常精准的英文翻译，很多同学使用的词汇不能完全表达自己本来的意思。
第二，雅思大作文篇幅有限，一个论点下面的论证过程一般在50-70个单词之间，同学们没有办法在段篇幅内把这种包含意思很广的内容解释清楚。这都会影响读者对文章的理解，无法做到有效的沟通。
同学们爱用宏大论点的原因，也是大部分受之前写作习惯的影响。很多同学之前写作文习惯了“劈情操”，但是雅思作文是在“讲道理”，其实就是在短篇幅内，有效合理地证明自己的观点，道理讲得越清楚，越是好的文章。
3、写作中“空洞”的表达
空洞的表达就是缺乏有效且具体论证的内容。很多同学会在论据的部分出现很多无效的和重复性内容，也就是非常典型的“车轱辘话”。
如 “Watching television could enrich students’ general knowledge. The reason is that they spend a great deal of time seeing various programs, which makes them more knowledgeable about the world. For example, when a child watches television alone at home, he or she could have access to different information, thus having an encyclopedic knowledge about many things. ”
这位同学为了证明看电视可以丰富小孩知识，在这段论证过程写了三句话，而这三句话的意思是一模一样的，这么写从内容和语言方面都有问题。
1、从内容方面来说，后面的重复性内容不能被作为 evidence 来支撑前面的论点，没有说服力。
2、从语言方面，这段论证过程里面用到了 “the reasons is that…”, “for example” 等表示不同逻辑关系的连接词，但是文章中的 “the reasons is that…” 后面连接的不是愿意，“for example” 后面连接的也不是例子，这相当于连接词的选择和使用也有问题。
空洞的论证过程原因在于学生的积累不够以及没有具体化的意识。其实很多同学的复习不够充分，没有把该刷的话题刷过一遍，导致有些话题在考场上完全没有思路，只能把和主题有关的词汇和句型都堆砌在一起。还有些同学对很多话题的常识也缺乏一定的了解，比如建设基础设施 build infrastructure 的作用，很多同学只能想到“便民”，根本不知道基础设施对促进经济的极大作用，导致扩展不够，也只能用重复内容来凑。
此外，没有将内容具体化的意识和训练也会导致空洞的论证过程。比如刚才的那段文字，可以在很多内容上进行具体的细化展开。

如何开展“有效的论证”?
想要避免出现上述“假、大、空”的内容，需要同学们进行一段时间的备考和训练，准备工作中主要需要注意2个方面：
1、对话题的了解及相关素材的积累;
2、对论证过程的训练。
雅思大作文由多个话题构成，同学们可以根据以往考试题目将话题进行归类，如政府类、教育类、科技类等;然后按照不同的话题准备相关的常识和素材，确保拿到题目有话可说。
此外，论证的训练也是有必要的，同学们可以学习常见的论证方法，如因果论证、解释论证、假设论证等，在平日练习时加以应用，让考试中写出的文章充实有逻辑。
