1) 题干篇幅为1~5句话;

2) 题干中会出现2个空格;

3) 每个空格有三个候选选项;

4) 每个空格要独立进行判断和选择;

1:Vain and prone to violence, Caravaggio could not handle success: the more his (i) ______ as an artist increased, the more (ii) ______ his life became.

BLANK (i) (A) temperance (B) notoriety (C) eminence

BLANK (ii) (D) tumultuous (E) providential (F) dispassionate

2. 确定blank1中应该填入一个名词,表示C作为一名艺术家在某一方面的成绩,blank2中应该填入一个形容词,表示C的生活的变化形式;

3. 发现句子中有冒号,可以推断句子前后两部分是一种解释说明的关系,即句子前后两部分意思一致,前半句说C对于成功的把握很差,而且倾向于暴力;则后半句也应该是同样的意思;

4. 在后半句中,as an artist increased应该对应的是―成功的意思,从blank1中选出―eminence,而his life became,对应的是其倾向于暴力的部分,从blank2中选出―tumultuous。

2:The brief survey, published under the title The Work of Nature: How the Diversity of Life Sustains Us, is surprisingly (i)____. Indeed it makes several longer treatments of the effects of lost biodiversity seem (ii)____.

Blank (i) A. distorted B. objective C. comprehensive

Blank (ii) D. redundant E. pithy F. premature

[Michelangelo (di Lodovico Buonarroti)]
