13. Do people in China celebrate birthdays?

14. Which birthdays are especially important in China?

15. Do people in China have birthday parties?

16. Do you think it's important for people to celebrate birthday?

雅思口语part1参考答案

1. It depends. Sometimes people in China will throw a party to celebrate though most people will just acknowledge it rather than actually celebrating it. I remembered when I was a little boy, I’d like to invite some close classmates and neighbours to banquet. We ate birthday cakes, played some interesting games and sometimes my parents would prepare some balloons for us. It was really memorable moment.

2. As an adult, I don’t think it important to celebrate my birthday because the date of my birthday is not different from other days. I just memorise several moments of my birthday parties as a young boy. I am a nostalgic man and I’m afraid the young boy’s joy had faded away.

3. Sometimes children’s birthday is a big banquet. Parents will always book a room in a restaurant and invite many children’s classmates and close friends. They will then prepare a big birthday cake and some other tasty food like sandwiches, biscuits and fruit juice. Children will have a good time there, and the whole process will be recorded by camera. I should say the children in current society really enjoy their childhood.

4. I think 18 is an important birthday for people because that is when you really declare your independence and are totally responsible for your behaviour.

5. We used to celebrate birthday according to the solar calendar because it is more common to us in everyday life. But in most rural areas, people used to use the lunar calendar.

6. Celebrations have changed over a period of time and the way I celebrate it now is very different from earlier. Now, birthday celebrations are more of surprises. Sometimes my friends come over and surprise in a certain, sometimes the other way. Earlier, it used be a planned celebration at house, now it is mostly travelling on that day, going out with friends to discover new horizons. The celebrations have changed but the fact that it is celebrated with the loved ones still remains the same.

7. As a child, I used to have those fancy celebrations where my mother would take care of almost everything. Arranging party, the guest list and so much more. For me birthdays were all about enjoying with my friends and eating cake, the one my father was responsible for.

8. I think celebrations are surely an important part of our lives and birthdays are something we must surely celebrate. However, in my opinion, celebrating does not always means spending money on parties. I remember a friend of mine, on his birthday he would give gifts to the poor. It was amazing of reminding yourself that your presence does make people happy.

9. In our country, birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru is the most celebrated birthday. On his birthday, the entire country celebrates, Children day because he loved children. Lovingly called ‘Chacha Nehru’ which means Uncle Nehru by the kids, Jawaharlal Nehru gave emphasis to the significance of giving love and affection to children, who are the bright future of India. On this day, most schools have fest for the students and other cultural events all over.

10. Yes, I do love them. There is so much fun associated with birthdays. You meet people, friends, play, put cakes and then sing birthday songs. We dance and sing and so much more. It is like we become kids once again.

11. I do enjoy birthdays. Birthdays bring along with them so much positivity and a feeling of freshness. It seems as if it is another chance to be someone else, someone better. You meet friends, enjoy with them, laugh at the silly things done and plan for the great future ahead.

12. Yes, I do. Although it is not very huge party but I make sure that there is a party and that I have all my near and dear ones surrounding me during my birthday.

13. I usually am not a very big birthday fan. I think there should not be any reason to celebrate life and oneself. I am one of those who would give myself or any one else gifts out of the box with no reasons and at any time of the year.

雅思口语1月part1话题新题预测之:教师(teacher)

9. Should teachers use discipline in the classroom?

10. Do you want to be a teacher someday?

11. Why people choose to become teachers?

12. What kind of person makes a good teacher?

雅思口语part1参考答案

I don’t think I am suitable to be a teacher, I am not a patient man and cannot bear to repeat the same things frequently. Teachers’ job is really boring to me, you have to make your explanations as easy as possible for students to fully understand. It is a challenging job, I am afraid I cannot do it.

My favourite teacher was my physics teacher whose name was Mr. Zhang in my middle school. He was the most influential teacher I had ever had. He told us a lot of physical background knowledge to encourage and motivate us because physics was quite complicated for us. I still remembered that he frequently gave us articulate speeches that the physics was the gymnastics for the brain, which inspired my enthusiasm to learn it well.

I should say a good teacher is one who always is well prepared for the class. And I guess if the person has a good sense of humour that would help because, you know, boring, ah, session, nobody would sit in the class, you know, hours after hours.

Coming from where I, um, am, I think yes, teachers should discipline students. In Korea, students would respect the teachers. My mum’s generation was more so, and my mum had to say one day, she thought teachers don’t eat, don’t go to the toilet, they are demi-Gods and wouldn’t even step on the shadow of the teacher, because you respect the teacher so much. But I don’t think same kind of respect is here and students sometimes misbehave during class hours and I just find it hard to understand. There is not enough respect for the teachers and also for the learning itself.

Umm! not really. I have not given it that much thought. But among my many career plans, entering in the teaching profession is not the one that ever attracted me.

People mostly choose to be teachers because this is the profession which is praised across the world. People always pay proper respect to a teacher regardless of geographical location. Moreover, when the knowledge is spread among the students, the teachers receive an unimaginable pleasure.

Teaching is considered as the best profession in the world. The teachers help the students to grow. So, to be a good teacher, one needs to be sincere and punctual. Moreover, vast subject knowledge is also required or you cannot share knowledge with your students. Behaving gently with the students is also a standard to be a good teacher.

雅思口语part1参考答案

I started my elementary school since seven year old.

My school was just located near my home, so every day I walked to school with myself, or sometimes with my neighbours.

My school is called the Haiyang Elementary School, which was established 50 years ago in my hometown. The school was quite spacious as it was large but there were no many students. Besides, the teachers there were always kind-hearted and responsible for their teaching.

Yes, it’s very memorable days of life cos it’s part of my life I got basic education from my school, besides, I didn’t have the stressful study burden at that period, so most of time I played with my classmates a lot. Therefore, it’s a golden period of my life and school days never come back.

There are several engaging activities in my school, such as sports meeting when the whole school played sports together. There were some exciting competitions like 100 metres dash, or marathon. Besides, we went autumn outing every year to some local natural sceneries. We didn’t have class and could enjoy the happy time with our classmates there.

Yes, every time I go back to my hometown, I’d like to visit my old school and I’ll be very delighted to see how my school developed. I was really proud of it.

Yes, there were several close friends when I was in my elementary school, and we still keep in touch with each other. We cherish our friendship after we have grown up.

There were many subjects we had to learn at secondary school, such as maths, English, physics, chemistry, history, geography, and so on. So you can see we had a heavy burden at that time.

In my secondary school, English was my favourite subject because I found it very easy to remember the new word, and the sentences I learned were not hard at all. Besides, thanks to my English teacher, he taught me and corrected my pronunciation so that I could speak quite influent English.

As my unfavourable subject, I guess the politics was the most disgusting subject because I had to remember endless and meaningless essays in order to pass the exams by rote. It was really a waste of my time.

I believe that the physics was quite helpful in my adult life. Though it wasn’t really needed in daily life of mine, just as my physical teacher said, the physics was the gymnastics for the brain, it helped me do things logically.

I believe that my secondary school had taught how to endure hardships if I wanted to achieve my goal. You know, in my country, the competition of entering university is badly fierce, so I had to work very hard in order to be eligible to pursue my education in the future.

I guess my secondary school has a rich history and provides a safe, supportive learning community where all students are challenged to reach their highest levels of achievement and grow as individuals.

I chose to attend my school because it was the most famous school in my hometown. It has gone through so long history that many scientists and politics graduated from it. And I believe I could be qualified to get to university after years of studying there.

雅思口语part1参考答案

1. I believe fashion is what is outside, so we have got fashion trends, things that most of the people at a particular time do. Like, wearing scarfs or certain kinds of pins. But, style is what comes from within. So, no matter you are following the fashion trend or not, if you are stylish, you can go a long way. Because, you can very well express yourself and it comes in everything that you do.

2. I buy clothes when I need them. So, last time when I went shopping it was because I had to buy a pair of jeans and some kurtis. Right now, I have enough clothes to wear everyday and still not be bored by them.

3. I would love to, but only when I find that they are comfortable shopping with me. Because, shopping truly is in itself a big task. You have to go shop by shop and then look at different clothes and so many more things. So, if they are happy finding clothes for me and helping me on it, by their wish, I will surely. But, if they find it hassle, I’d prefer going alone or with friends.

4. Mostly, I shop for books. I am a bibliophile in that way and the moment I finish a book, I jump on to other. Most of the time, I have a buffer of books. So, if in case I am not able to buy a book, I have got a set of unread books at my hand.

5. I think in my city, there is this mall, Pal City Mall, I like going out there when I have to buy lot of things together. Like books and clothes and bags or may be go for parlor as well. It is a nice place with all of these things and the quality of products available is also nice.

6. For clothes, I think my favorite brand would be W. I like its kurtis because they are very feminine and subtle and then yet very loud. Also, I feel very comfortable wearing them. When it comes to shoes, I mostly go for either action or bata. I think they are pretty good.

7. No, I am one of those who would shop only when required.

8. It depends. You know there are things that just strike your eyes and you are like fall in love with them. It is only when I fall in love with things that I go out and buy them. So, if I find that one thing in a shop I go ahead, but if in any way I am not satisfied I prefer going to the next shop.

9. Yes, there is this top that I had and I loved it but I was not very comfortable wearing it because my body structure at that time was such that it was dragging down.

10. Most of the times. I remember as a child I had to wear what they said. There was this top that I had and really did not liked it, because it used to itch a lot when I wore it. But, because it was warm and everything I had to wear it. However, I think at that time it did not even bothered me as to what I was wearing. Because, joy was somewhere else.

11. Yes, of course. I mostly go for shopping only during sales. Because, you can get the same thing at a cheaper price, most often 50% less. So, why not!
