As for, By contrary,Although等等联结句子的短语就会很有用。

雅思口语Part2话题答案: shop that just opened in your hometown

Where the shop is

When it opened

What it sells and how you feel about the shop

Talking about the shop that just opened, the first thing came to me is a select shop (精选店) opened last month in my hometown. It is located in the downtown business area where there are many fancy (昂贵的,精选的) shopping malls and high-grade (高级的,优质的) office buildings. Plenty of people pass by it everyday. In the shop, there are many luxury goods from different famous brands like Coach, Calvin Klein, Prada etc, and there are also many goods with no names but good quality. There are many categories of goods like glasses, purses, bags and clothes, and all these goods are selected by the owner from different places. You can always find something you like there. So it is quite popular among white-collars (白领) who work in that area.

To me, this place is great. Its decoration is quite delicate (雅致的) and exotic(异国情调的). It has large French windows (落地窗) and the shop is divided into different exhibition(展览)parts. All goods are exhibited orderly on the shelf. Besides, I like the owner of the shop. She is a chic (时髦的,别致的) young lady who has a good taste (品味). She has traveled to many different places in the world and selected all the goods by herself. She likes to share her travel experiences and understanding of fashion with her customers. So she is like a friend to me. Well, that’s the newly-opened shop I ‘d like to recommend.

雅思口语Part2话题答案:house or apartment you have (recently) visited

You should say:

where it was (or is)

when you visited it

what it looked like

and explain why you visited it.

Ok then, well the place that I’d like to talk to you about was actually a show home that I went to visit with my parents, which was in a newly developed apartment complex not far from where we live. And I suppose it must have been about two or three weeks ago when we went there.

As for why we went there, well it was simply because we’re thinking of buying a flat as an investment. You know here in China, this is a very common thing to do, because investing in property is seen as being relatively risk-free. And some friends of ours who had already been there to have a look recommended that we also check it out .So we thought, why not!

Anyway, with regard to what the flat looked like, well basically, it was really nicely decorated, as you can probably imagine, what with it being a show home and all. For example, the floor was mostly marble, and there was a huge chandelier hanging above the dining table. So yeah, it all looked pretty impressive. I mean, even the wallpaper was nice, you know, it was, um… I’m not quite sure how to best describe it, but you could just tell it was really good quality from the feel and texture of it.

The only downside was the price, because I think it was something like twenty five thousand rmb a square metre, so the whole flat came to about four million, or somewhere thereabouts, which was a bit above our budget unfortunately!

show home = 样板房

marble = 大理石

chandelier = 枝形吊灯

So yeah, it all looked pretty impressive. =

I’m not quite sure how to best describe it = 我不太清楚怎样描述得最好

you could (just) tell it was really good quality from the feel and texture of it.

downside = 负面

which was a bit above our budget = 稍微超出了我们的预算

Other useful phrases:

It was on the tenth floor =

Floor-to-ceiling windows =

Very spacious =

Very cozy =

It was open-plan =

Flat-screen TV =

It overlooked the city centre =

It had a great view of the city centre

雅思口语Part2话题答案:a popular place where people like to go swimming

You should say:

Where is this place?

When did you first visit this place?

How often do you go to this place?

And explain why it is so popular.

St Kilda beach is a very popular place for people in Melbourne to go for swimming and otherrecreational activities. There are also lots of bars, nightclubs, cafes and restaurants as well. St Kilda beach is located approximately 12 kilometers from Melbourne’s CBD and the beach itself is very long so there are lots of spots for people to swim.

I first visited this beach in 2007 when I first came to Australia. My school organized it for us and took us all there for a day trip and as I remember it was a very memorable and exciting trip for me because we don’t really have many beautiful beaches and seaside places in my hometown so the whole experience was new for me and I absolutely loved it!

I have been to St Kilda beach many times over the past few years and I visit the beach during warm days and sometimes in winter as well. I’d say I go there once every 2 weeks and last time I also went for fishing with my friends which was pretty fun!

Anyway, St Kilda beach is super popular because there are a lot of awesome bars and cafes around the beach, not to mention the beach clubs that attract many local and international visitors every year. Also, you can always join some festivals there as well so it’s rich in culture and tradition too and not just anordinary beach.

I guess people love it there because of the whole environment and also its convenient location which is not far from the city so it makes it easy for everyone to get there even those who don’t drive. I also forgot to mention that some of Melbourne’s finest chocolate shops and burger joints are located in St Kilda so if you’re a foodie and enjoy fine dining and exotic cocktails, then St Kilda beach is the place for you and I definitely recommend it!
