英语六级作文篇1

Seasons

季节

The year is divided into four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter.

In spring, nature awakens from her long winter sleep. The trees are filled with new life, the earth is warmed by the rays of the sun, and the weather gets gradually milder. The fields and meadows are covered with fresh green grass. The woods and forests are filled with the songs of the birds. The sky is blue and cloudless. At night, millions of stars shine in the darkness.

When summer comes, it gets warmer still and sometimes it is very hot. It's the farmer's busy season. He works in the fields from morning till night. The grass must be cut and the hay must be made. Sometimes the sky is overcast with heavy clouds. There are storms with thunder, lightning and hail.

Autumn brings with it the harvest time, when the crops are gathered in and the fruits are picked in the orchards. Days get shorter and nights longer. The woods turn yellow. The sky is grey and very often it rains.

When winter comes, we are obliged to stay indoors because out of doors it is cold. We may get fog, sleet and frost. Ponds, lakes, rivers and streams are frozen, and the roads are sometimes covered with slippery ice or deep snow.

The trees are bare. Bitter north winds have stripped them of all their leaves. But since winter comes, spring won't be far away.

参考范文:

The Impact of the Cellphone on Interpersonal Communication

The picture depicts a couple dating in the park. While the man just focuses on his cellphones, and doesn’t pay any attention to his partner or the nature beauty in the park. This picture reflects a common phenomenon in today’s society: people spend too much time with their cellphones and communicate less and less with the people around them.

Nowadays, the smart-cellphones become more and more important in our daily life. They have made our life more convenient. We are timely aware of the most latest news around or faraway from us.

However, everything has two sides. Except for all the advantages, the smart-cellphones also have brought some problems. First, when you’re focus on the cellphone, you may ignore the beautiful scene around you. What’s worse, you are just absorbed in your own small world, rather than share your happiness and sorrows with the family. You hardly talk with your family and the ones around you. You become indifferent to them.

All in all, let’s put down the cellphones and spend more time communicating with our family and friends face to face directly.

My Dormitory Room我的宿舍

My dormitory room is on the second floor. It is small and crowded. The dark green walls andthe dirty white ceiling make the room seem dark, and thus even smaller than it is. As you walkinto the room, you are stopped short by my bed which fills half of the room. The two largewindows over the bed are hidden by heavy dark gold drapes. Against the wall on your left, pushed into a corner behind the head of the bed, is a large bookcase which is crammed withpapers , books, and knick-knacks, Wedged in between the bookcase and the wall opposite thebed is a small grey metal desk. It has a brown wooden chair which seems to fill the left end ofthe room. Stuffed under the desk is a wooden wastepaper bas ket over — flowing with paperand debris. The wall above the bookcase and desk is completely taken up with two smallposters. On the right hand of the room is a nar row closet with clothes, shoes, hats, tennisracquets, and boxes bulging out of its sliding doors. Everytime I walk out of the door, I think, "Now I know what it is like to live in a closet. "

Some People Like Different Friends. Others Like Similar Friends. Compare theAdvantages of These Two Kinds of Friends. Which Kind of Friends Do You Prefer? Explain Why.

许多人喜欢异性朋友,然而许多人喜欢同性朋友,你喜欢哪种?

Some People Like Different Friends. Others Like Similar Friends. Compare the Advantages ofThese Two Kinds of Friends. Which Kind of Friends Do You Prefer? Explain Why.

It is universally known that friendship is one of the eternal themes in the literature of alllanguages. This is because human beings were born to need the warmth and laughter offriends. However it is impossible for us to make friends with everybody. We have to choosetrue friends. Some of us like similar friends, while others different friends. Personally, I preferboth.

It goes without saying that having similar friends has many advantages. We can feel a sense ofstrength when we have a group of old friends who would share our sufferings and happiness. Mor eover, old friends always know how to maintain mutual trust and how to avoid potentialfriction. I always feel delighted when I meet an old friend after a long departure. Immediately, hearty laughter fills the atmosphere.

Never theless I believe that a mixture of friends is equally advantageous. In the first place, frequent contact with dif ferent friends broadens my wor ld outlook. For instance, I have foundit a real treasure to have so many friends on the campus who often help me reinforce mybeliefs. Secondly, I have found that different friends cannot only lead to new adventures butalso show me new avenues in life. Thirdly, they can help me with whatever difficulties Iencounter in life.

To conclude, I prefer to have both types of friends and as many as possible. Of course, I willnot forget to choose friends wisely .

How to Make Friends

如何交朋友

A proverb says "One man is not good enough to live alone in the world." Indeed, there aremany things in life which we alone cannot perform. We need f riends' help. Friends are peoplewho willingly and readily help us when we a re in trouble, and show sympathy for us when weare in misery.

The benefits of friendship a reboundless and sometimes invisible. For example, when we havepassed the graduation examination and are looking for a job, we need experienced andreliable friends to guide us and help us on our way. A good friend is also an adviser, becauseour own points of view towards things may not be always right. Therefore, it is necessary for usto seek advice from friends.

Of course, we can make friends everywhere. However, I think the best place is school, where weare among a big number of boys and girls our own age, so it is easy to get to know one anotherin a short time. Besides, we can also make friends among the people who work with us in thecommunity.

In order to make friends, we ourselves must be honest, noble-minded and kind-heart edwhereby to leave a favour able impression on other s since other people observe us the sameway as we do.

At the same time, we should avoid bad friends, because they always do harm to us, andmoreover, they are dangerous to the people a round. What is even worse, they mar ourfriendship with good friends.

Indeed, seeking acquaintance with bad friends would be a serious mistake.

英语六级作文篇6

Health and Wealth, Which Do You Prefer?

"Health is wealth!". This is an old saying which the majority applaud. As a rule, the wealthier you are, the weaker is your health, but this cannot be applied to all.

To begin with, a person that has health can afford to challenge all hardships. For example, manual workers are usually stout and energetic. With their energy, they earn their living. Although such an occupation brings little reward as compared with the energy they have exerted, they enjoy life whatever things may be.

Moreover, business is based on health. Students in good health can absorb knowledge more readily. In good health, scientists can tackle complex technical problems and achieve more success.

Frequently we find millionaires cling close to their doctors for they seldom have enough exercises to bring forth better health. Their lack of exercises slackens the readiness of growth of the antibodies to resist the at tack of diseases. So, my argue is that health is more important than wealth for if we do not have health, what can we benefit from wealth?
